Obituary of John Brimley
John “Jay” Brimley passed away peacefully on July 27, 2017 at the age of 85.
Jay was the beloved son of the late John and Irene Brimley. Dear brother of the late Elizabeth Bradshaw. Loving uncle of Debra Bradshaw, Irene (Roland) Cardenas, and John (Ruby) Bradshaw. Cherished great uncle of David Bradshaw.
Jay was a resident at Scarsdale House for 26 years, one of WestchesterARC’s group homes for the developmentally disabled. He loved his home and all who lived and worked there. His life was enriched by living there, as well as attending Stella & Simon Sheib Adult Living Skills Center. Jay lovingly referred to it as “school”. He knew everyone and always wanted to be helpful. His sweet and kind demeanor came from an angel, his mother. She taught him to always be kind, helpful and respectful. He was her “little boy”. Although it is so hard to lose him, it is comforting to know his mommy, his sister and Fluffy, his most beloved dog, were there to welcome him into heaven. Now he is looking down on us from heaven, thanking us for loving and helping him during his journey through life.
