Obituary of Joseph Rufo
Joseph C. Rufo, a resident of Yonkers, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Monday, August 7, 2017, at the age of 93.
Joseph was born in NYC to the late Michele and Nunziata. He proudly served his country during WWII in the US Army with the 297th Combat Engineers.
Joseph was the loving husband of the late Mary. Dear father of JoAnn (the late Angelo) Prisciantelli, Ann Marie (Nick) Berardis, Nancy (Anthony) Foto and Michael (Victoria) Rufo. Cherished grandfather of Michele (Tim) Gallagher, Nicholas (Christina) Berardis,Jr. , Angelo J. Prisciantelli, Christina Foto, Marissa Foto and Arabella Rufo. Great grandfather of Isabella Gallagher, Gabriella & Zachary Berardis and Faith Prisciantelli. He is survived by his sisters, Fortunata & Donata and his brother, Vittorio and was predeceased by his sisters, Palmina & Loretta and brother, Antonio. Josephs is also survived by numerous nieces & nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the National WWII Memorial Fund (please use the link in the column on the left of your page. Funeral Mass Thursday, 11 AM at St. Ann's Church (Yonkers) and he will be laid to rest at Rose Hills Memorial Park. The family will be present on Wednesday 3-9 PM at F. Ruggiero & Sons, Inc.
