Maggie Galbert, 74, of the Bronx, New York, passed away December 10, 2020 at home. She was born in Foreman, Arkansas to the late Mozel and Joe Galbert, the youngest of nine children. She spent her early days there and in Idabel, Oklahoma. Afterwards, Maggie moved to Los Angeles, CA, graduating High School, and to be near her sisters, Pearline and Sally. Maggie came to New York, settling in the Bronx to be with her sister Fannie (Galbert) Sanchez. She worked at TIAA for over 30 years until retiring, when she declared herself a “lady of leisure”. An avid reader and traveler, including to Africa and France, she often spent time with her sister and family, Pearline, Freeman and nephew Darryl in Arizona. Maggie’s kindness, strength, and sincere faith in God are an inspiration to all who knew her. She was a great friend and well loved. She loved having fun with her friends and family and we will always remember her wonderful laugh. “Miss Maggie” as she was referred to by some in her community, is remembered for her caring, giving and thoughtfulness.
