Obituary of Larry Mesler, Sr.

Lawrence "Larry" J. Mesler Sr. passed peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 23, 2021, at the age of 80. Beloved husband to Carolyn Campana Mesler. Born on April 10th, 1941 in Yonkers, NY, he was son of the late Emil and Sally Mesler. He proudly served active duty with the 101st Signal Battalion National Guard. Prior to retirement, he worked at Dowling's Fleet Service for many years. He enjoyed watching the Yankees, Giants, and Rangers. He had a gift for gardening, and he followed his deep interest in politics and current events through the Fox News Channel. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, friend, and neighbor. He will be truly missed by all. In addition to his loving wife Carolyn of 52 years, he is survived by his 3 children, Larry Jr. and wife Lisa, Lori Giorgio and husband Dan and Amy Abbate and husband Dominic; adored grandchildren, Amanda Abbate, Kayla Giorgio, Amanda Campbell and Nicky Peluso; his sister Carol Mesler Brackett, his nieces Cathy, Linda, and Donna; his brother-in-law Frank Campana and wife Anna, his nephew Frank Jr. and niece Annette and their loving families; and he is predeceased by his brother-in-law Fred Brackett. In lieu of flowers, donations in Larry’s memory may be made to The Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation - www.christopherreeve.org/donate. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 - 11 AM at Saint Bartholomew's Church, 15 Palmer Road, Yonkers, New York 10701. The family will be present on Monday, April 26, 2021 from 4-8 PM at Ruggiero & Sons, Inc., Funeral Home & Cremation Services-732 Yonkers Avenue- Yonkers, New York 10704.
