Beatrice Agatha Roberts, a resident of Yonkers, sadly passed away on April 27, 2021 at the age of 87.
Beatrice Agatha Roberts was born in Jamaica in the Parish of St Mary. She sailed on the ship RMS Ascania from Kingston to London in 1955. She worked as a seamstress for large corporate clothing design companies such as Windsmoor and Burberry. Meanwhile, she went to the Photographers Guild where she trained to become a professional free lance photographer taking photos of major important events such as weddings, christenings, etc. She lived in London until 2007 where upon she immigrated to Yonkers, New York, to help raise her last grand child. She was very proud of the achievements of her children and all those around her that she knew.
Beatrice loved to dance and at one time was the lead singer of a band in the 1960’s. She enjoyed traveling especially on Disney cruises. She loved to cook, her specialties were rice and peas, stew peas and red bean pea soup. She was a very proud woman. Always presentable and loved to dress herself up no matter the circumstances.
She is survived by her son Anthony, a professional printer, her daughter Helen Brenda, a physician, four grandchildren Keysha, Richard, Joseph, Aleah and her 2 great grandchildren Nyeelah and Akilah.
The family will be present on Saturday, May 1st from 11 AM – 12 PM at Ruggiero & Sons, Inc. Funeral Home – 732 Yonkers Avenue, Yonkers, NY 10704. Beatrice will be laid to rest with a religious service at 1:30 PM at Pinelawn Memorial Park, 2030 Wellwood Avenue, Farmingdale, NY 11735.
Our facility at 732 Yonkers Avenue is independently owned & operated by Richard & Michael Ruggiero. This location is staffed by Michael, Eileen, Michelle & Andrew Ruggiero and Jessica Martins. At this time, this is the only facility owned and operated by the Ruggiero family
