Ralph E. Crosby, RLA passed away on July 1, 2021 after a short illness. He was born in Yonkers on August 6, 1934 to Ralph and Florence Crosby. Ralph was a Landscape Architect and graduated from Saunders High School in 1952. He then joined the United States Air Force where he served for four years. After discharge, he attended the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI school of Architecture, under the GI Bill.
He worked for the Office of Lee Moore, Landscape Architect/Design firm in Scarsdale, NY for many years. After receiving his professional license, he was employed by the Edward Durrell Stone Office in New York City, in charge of international projects in Saudi Arabia and Italy, and upon returning to the United States, he opened his own office in Yonkers.
He was the Restoration Landscape Architect for Untermyer Park and Gardens, where he worked with New York State Historic Parks and the City of Yonkers to secure the Historic Grant money necessary for the Untermyer restoration. His other major and important work for him was the restoration of the Veterans Memorial located on South Broadway in Yonkers.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann of 62 years, a daughter - Bridget Barrett (deceased) and two grandchildren, Dylan James and Kelley Ann Barrett and also his only sister, Eleanor Haggerty.
